In the gospel of Luke, the prodigal son doesn't return home because of a renewed love for his father. He comes back home simply to survive because he ran out of money and is starving. And his father is perfectly fine with that! Just come home. God just wants you home.

Real change doesn’t happen as a result of being told you need to change. Real change happens as a result of being loved.

This means I’m opposed to all that degrades dignity, all that kills innocent life. I’m opposed to murder, and I’m opposed to revenge. I don’t live this out consistently, not by a long shot. But it’s my hope, God have mercy.
