Where did everyone park last night? Was it extremely overblown just like the "disaster" that NSCC parking was expected to be? Was the shuttle required? My plan was to just street park on Charlotte/Bentinck/George but we decided to stay home when Jimmy Rankin got bumped to 8.

They travel to a faraway land, a peaceful land. Somewhere beautiful with like three waterfalls or something. And lobster rolls and the locals argue over whether Napoli's or Kenny's is better pizza but they're both terrible.

When driving is not an option islandpress.org/books/when-dri… ~30% of our population are independent non-drivers. People capable of personal independence but don't drive.

This is cool and all but my first car was a 2001 Kia Rio that did 0-60 in probably. You don't need to worry about speeding when your car has 96hp (from the factory), a clogged cat and shook if you thought about hitting 90km/h.

$1B to $3.3B of sheltered/untaxed wealth in just 4 years Provincial CAP gets more inequitable every year The more value capped, the higher burden on commercial and uncapped residential (new builds, renters) The CAP exists as a tax shelter to hoard wealth and no other reason

Same length of road, water and sewer pipes. More distance travelled for transit. More difficult to access local parks/open spaces/amenities so now they're only available if you travel by car. Maybe it's not "for everyone" but it shouldn't be the legislated only option

225m2 or ~2500sft in most serviced residential areas in CBRM. Combined with decent lot coverage maximums (50%) this has allowed some pretty decent lots for small homes where previous lot size/max coverage requirements yielded large empty lots and wasted space.

The new weather warning system is so much clearer. Yellow hazards are white for snow, but yellow hazards for winter storms are red. What color will the red warnings be?

I always say the reason the CAP still exists is because people look at it on an individual basis and not as a system. This is proof. I would put good money that a $167k cap shelter (274-107) is under the avg cap difference and would see a lower tax bill saltwire.com/cape-breton/it…

For it's lifetime, planning was about managing growth (to differing levels of success). Many theories, policies and practices are built on that But what if an area isn't growing? What if an area is actually shrinking? Why would it adopt similar land use policies are growing areas?
