Carrying on the theme of raptors whilst I was in a little clearing in the New Forest looking for honeys a few weeks back this lovely Goshawk did a close fly past with prey.

This is very scary- I’m normally try to have an upbeat, optimistic view on the natural world - but its hard to see any hope that can even be achieved in time… theguardian.com/environment/20…

A near disaster moment for this juvenile Peregrine at Taunton. The prey is too heavy, flying is impossible as gravity takes over. Crash landing on the Minster Tower was the only option left. Fortunately the Peregrine wasn't hurt.
