Heritage botanists from the SE U.S. gathered in February with the goal of updating global ranks for 40 SE plants. In the end, the group worked on global ranks for 96 species! Thank you NatureServe and partners for facilitating these rank updates! 🌿📷 #botany #plantconservation
For the Conservation Team at Fairchild Garden and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, past reintroductions of fragile Sand flax proved difficult. It turns out they just needed a nurse! Now, with support from SoutheasternPCA and Muhly grass nurse plants, they are ready to augment wild populations! #botany
🌟Project Spotlight: Schwalbea americana🌟 Schwalbea is an endangered plant found in the coastal plain from MA to FL. The SE PCA and Atlanta Botanical Garden are propagating Schwalbea from a population in SW Georgia at Ichauway. These seedlings will be planted to augment dwindling numbers.
