The first species of our new Project Spotlight Series is Polygonella basiramia (Wireweed). Our partners at Bok Tower Gardens and ABS are working to complete population monitoring, seed & leaf tissue collection, & germination trials to support this federally listed species.

🌟Project Spotlight: Schwalbea americana🌟 Schwalbea is an endangered plant found in the coastal plain from MA to FL. The SE PCA and Atlanta Botanical Garden are propagating Schwalbea from a population in SW Georgia at Ichauway. These seedlings will be planted to augment dwindling numbers.

Last week, SE PCA Coordinator Carrie attended @NatureServe's Biodiversity Without Boundaries Conference. Carrie shared about ex situ conservation & attended a field trip at a natural area. Sights included Fairy Slipper (Calypso bulbosa) and Chocolate lily (Fritillaria affinis)😍
