The #immune system really puts the pressure on tumor cell diversity, clearing the cancerous environment of most tumor cell clones, Institut Pasteur, since 1887 scientists report in Science Immunology. bit.ly/2BxTR8a #cancer
it is a mystery to me why a 2nd referendum (now that we know what Brexit would entail) would be a betrayal of democracy (as PM May claims) when the initial referendum, taken without knowing what Brexit would entail and against a backdrop of misleading predictions, was legitimate.
Our Cell Hashing work w/NYGCtech is out Genome Biology! Check out a few awesome experimental approaches for scRNA-seq multiplexing: - biorxiv.org/content/early/… (Lior Pachter) - biorxiv.org/content/early/… (Gartner Lab) - biorxiv.org/content/early/… (Samantha Morris) - genomebiology.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.11…
Interesting Financial Times. Quite optimistic after the past few years.
First of many (hopefully) on studying ageing and neurodegeneration Tom Freeman McColl Lab Edinburgh. A core transcriptional signature of human microglia: Derivation and utility in describing region‐dependent alterations associated with Alzheimer's disease onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.10…
With Fei Chen's lab, we introduce Slide-seq, for genome-wide expression profiling in tissue slices at 10-micron resolution. A single scientist can prepare dozens of slides in one day. Developed by two amazing students, Sam Rodriques and Bob Stickels. biorxiv.org/content/10.110…
First first author paper with McColl Lab Edinburgh and Anirudh Patir is published! 🥳👩🔬 Myeloid cell involvement and gene signature of inflammation resolution using a reductionist model of brain inflammation #neuroinflammation #microglia #trancsriptomics bit.ly/2VLcSuD
This is the most fun review I have read about the evolution of the immune system @CJASN "Imagine that you are a primitive animal, perhaps a distant predecessor of all mammals. You have lived a long life, thus far relying solely on a basic defence system." cjasn.asnjournals.org/content/10/7/1…
