Excursion over the border into Berkshire for my annual Nightingale fix. Saw or heard at least seven on our wander. Always an immense thrill to listen to. Shame they're so hard to find in Oxon now. BirdGuides Berks Bird News BBO Wildlife Trust

In Oxfordshire but location undisclosed owing to site sensitivity, a female Ring Ouzel giving reasonable views this afternoon. One of Mrs Caley's favourites and not always easy to see locally so happy with this one. BirdGuides Oxford Ornithological Society BBO Wildlife Trust

Nothing much beats a Dotterel in my book, so I took the trip to Cam Cadlan near Merthyr Tydfil where these four were wowing all comers today. Absolutely stunning! I love 'em! BirdGuides RSPB Cymru Wader Quest SW Wales Birds RSPB

After taking in the superb Dotterel, I made my annual excursion to rspb Gwenffrwd-Dinas reserve to see the woodland specials. Quiet by usual standards but still had great views of a fantastic singing Wood Warbler. BirdGuides RSPB Cymru SW Wales Birds WelshWildlifeCentre

Scops Owl on Lesvos 23/04/2025. Alert because of a couple of cats prowling under its tree. Moments later it disappeared into a hole. Super little things! Lesvos Bird News Real Lesvos BirdGuides Owls 🦉 RSPB BirdLife International

An inland Eider just 10 miles from home at Calvert in Bucks wasn't to be sniffed at although it may as well have been at the coast! Far more satisfying was the Whimbrel that is also favouring the site. bucks bird club BBO Wildlife Trust BirdGuides Bucks Bird News Wader Quest

Very fortunate to have this Temminck's Stint feed right next to our car at Skala Kalloni salt pans when on Lesvos, on 23/04. Point blank, frame filling beauty! Lesvos Bird News Wader Quest BirdGuides Real Lesvos RSPB Greek Birds

Spurred on by seeing Paul Gibbs excellent photos, I went to BBO Wildlife Trust Foxcote reservoir to see the two Black Terns this afternoon. I had my best and closest views ever of adults of the species. A superb showing! bucks bird club BirdGuides Bucks Bird News RSPB

Spotted this male Honey Buzzard deep in the valley at Woolbeding Common yesterday. It then flew very obligingly past us and wheeled around a few times. Despite the feather damage, a very smart bird! BirdGuides Sussex Birding RSPB honeybuzzards RareBirdAlertUK
