🧵LTA were in The Times and The Sunday Times justifying their two-tier fairness policy. Here’s why we think it’s unlawful; Nowhere in the Supreme Court ruling or Equality Act does it state that there is a "level" below which males (however they identify) can be included in the female category.

'LGBT health' makes no sense. The needs of gay people and those of young adults with gender distress are miles apart. The review led by Dr Michael Brady cannot be independent as he has helped oversee the expansion of affirmation only gender clinics. telegraph.co.uk/news/2025/07/2…

Expanding services is reckless while there's an acknowledged lack of evidence about the best care for children with gender related distress. These children should be treated within existing mental health services not hived off into 'gender' clinics. archive.ph/NBiUY

It’s really wonderful to see something you’ve fought hard for make it into policy. And it has taken an immense effort. Academics from across disciplines. Advocates shouting on the streets and out of our TVs. Journalists and commentators who platformed us despite the pressure

The The Independent was launched as a quality newspaper with a ‘guiding principle to promote the greatest diversity of voices and viewpoints for independent-minded people’. This is very sad.

Finally, after 3.5 years, I feel like I can emerge from the Giggle v Tickle bubble I have been living in and it feels so good. How am I feeling about it all? So, so, so good. Better than I have ever felt before. Not just relieved but confident. We took facts & the correct

The failure of BBC News (UK) to cover the landmark women’s rights legal case #TicklevGiggle is so bad as to seemingly defy explanation. But hang on! Here’s a 🔥thread from SEEN in Journalism which explains it brilliantly.

“The reality is sex is immutable, binary, male & female. If you don’t understand that, you have no business being the sex discrimination commissioner… I think she should resign… It’s her job to protect the reality of sex & if you’re not doing that, you should not be there.”

'What a woman means has changed over time' makes as little sense as 'what the sky means has changed over time.' No amount of fashionable jargon, pseudo-science or religious belief will alter the nature of women or the sky. You are not God. Reality exists independently of you.

SEEN in Journalism (@journalismseen) 's Twitter Profile Photo

News outlets should know that this doesn’t mean they have to call him a woman. They need to be told - not just empowered, but told - to report sex when it’s known, and ask about sex when it isn’t known.

“Would (BBC News (UK)) be planning to produce criteria? Or to devote a member of staff to be permanently on standby to judge whether a particular person has earned the right to self-ID?” open.substack.com/pub/seeninjour…

Attempting to change the nature of the category woman by linguistic fiat is like trying to live forever by stipulating that by “death” you will mean something that happens to other people.
