Huge thanks to Charles Cotton for his time and expert evidence he gave to the Northern Ireland Assembly Committee for Communities on behalf of The CIPD in Northern Ireland. This morning's session was the committee stage of The Pensions (Extension of Automatic Enrolment) Bill, which we support.

I looked at some of the hurricane comments on X over the last few days and, I must honestly admit, I did not realise how bad things were. It is utterly terrifying. "...divided not just by political beliefs but by whether they believe in a shared reality - or desire one at all."

Thanks to cancelled flights, frantic rebooking to and from different airports and truly atrocious weather, I was late and only managed to squeeze into the overflow room for Anas Sarwar's speech at #ScotLab25.

Big news for NI employers - the DfE announced its preferred way forward following the Good Jobs Bill consultation last year. It will take some time to digest, but crucially, the main Bill won't be introduced until 2026, with some provisions likely to appear sooner.
