Sir Keir's just an ordinary bloke making tough decisions like selling weapons to Israel and cutting welfare to the disabled and elderly.

Now is the perfect time to remember Mohammad Mosaddegh. He was elected as Iran's Prime Minister in 1951. He was incredibly liberal for the time - he embraced democratic principles and sought to place limitations on the Shah's power. He was also a supporter of secularism.

The assisted dying bill is not fit for purpose "We should only cross that Rubicon with the toughest of safeguards and yet the bill is now weaker than ever" thetimes.com/comment/column…

Jeremy Corbyn (@jeremycorbyn) 's Twitter Profile Photo

In November, I expressed my concern that the Assisted Dying Bill could not provide adequate safeguards against abuse and social coercion. I am still not satisfied - and that is why I voted against this legislation.

Breaking: Labour to announce a posthumous knighthood for Dr Harold Shipman in the King's honours list. Starmer: "It is right that we honour Dr Shipman, who was so ahead of his time."

I think voting for the Assisted Dying Bill shows a staggering amount of trust in a government that has done nothing but demonstrate its contempt for the vulnerable.

Jason Reid I think it’s important to listen to people who are at risk and every single disability rights organization is against this law. And for good reason. That should make People think, lived experiences are not the same for everyone.

I voted in person today. As I travelled back to my wife and our family, my father in law died. I’m very, very sad that I wasn’t with Al but I am thankful for the wonderful man that he was and the wisdom he shared (and approval he gave.. 🤣). May his memory be a blessing.

Rob C Jason Reid You’re so very very wrong. This bill is a disaster for disabled people and the old, who already feel unwanted and a bloody burden, demonised by society. Care is ignored, palliative care is a mess.

j clarke Geoff Newman 🍒🤍💚🇬🇧🇺🇦🏳️‍🌈 Jason Reid I do and I’m more terrified of this bill and the cuts to disabled benefits than I am of fucking dying. We will have no choice, no matter how much we want to treasure our last days/weeks/years. People will be in absolute poverty, in absolute torture. You privileged fool.

Jason Reid There's no subject that will get a serious debate in this country. When the main proponents of the bill refuse to allow experts to testify and stutter their way through misunderstanding what basics like consent, coercion and capacity mean, you know they have no interest in it.

I am not saying this lightly. I really pushed for Starmer and Labour to be elected. I was wrong. Apart from few principled MPs, the rest can go in the bin
