Meet Elphaba 💚 the second badger cub to come into our care. Found on the side of the road, incredibly cold and alone, a member of the public scooped her up and rushed her to us. On arrival she was very cold and dehydrated and crawling with fleas! A full assessment showed no

🐣 This Easter, let’s talk real eggs, the well-hidden nests of our shore & ground-nesting birds 🪺 They’re easy to miss & sadly easy to disturb. Please stick to trails & keep dogs close 🌿 📸 Amazing work by Warden Nadia at South Swale 👏 👉 kentwildlifetrust.org.uk/bird-disturban…

A visit to Knepp Wildland Foundation isn’t just about White Storks. So many warblers and nightingales! Not heard a turtle dove… yet… but we have another 2 days. We love it here. Sussex Wildlife Trust 🦔 p

Did you know...? #Hedgehogs are actually pretty good swimmers? 🦔 💧 But it's vital to add wildlife ramps, sloping edges or a pebble beach to your pond or pool, as they can't navigate steep slippery sides! #FridayFact #FunFactFriday

We’re familiar with watching our gardens spread out in strange positions sunbathing on the lawn, but have never before seen a Treecreeper doing this on a vertical tree trunk. It was a beautiful Cumbrian morning today BBC Springwatch Chris Packham Iolo Williams RSPB Birders

A hedgehog had a good snuffle round our pond looking for snacks last night. The water level is lower than usual due to the weather. It and our wild ‘lawn’ are undoubtedly a welcome feeding ground when everything else is so dry. Hedgehog Society Kent Wildlife Trust Hugh Warwick

Remember to check for wildlife if you're tidying gardens this week! 🦔✂️🚫 Let grass grow – but if you must mow, try to leave a corner or edge untouched. Check carefully for #hedgehogs before you start work, then cut it to about a foot tall. Check again before cutting shorter!

First Corn Buntings of the year for us at Elmley NNR today. White Tailed Eagle was considerably larger than the usual fence post raptors seen there… even at a distance through heat haze. The Little Owl was downright judgmental 😂 Also loads of Cinnabar and 6 spot burnet moths.
