SOSSwifts are nicely stocked up with Swift nest boxes; Little and Tawny Owl boxes in the pic too. 3 Swift boxes were delivered to Pakenham today, bonus was seeing a Red Kite pluck nesting material up off the ground and fly off. ⁦SuffolkWildlifeTrust⁩ ⁦Suffolk Bird Group

Very happy that this Suffolk location is putting up three Swift nest boxes. The adjacent cream house to the left has a Swift box which was used last year, so an excellent opportunity to expand the colony there. Swift conservation works ⁦Suffolk Bird GroupSuffolkWildlifeTrust

"Please put your four dogs on a lead. This is a nature reserve. It's a rare wildflower meadow." Continues to lob ball into Cowslips for the dogs. Then, "Go and do something useful." Like voluntarily transform a Thistle field into a wildlife refuge about 20 years ago? 😫

The playing of Swifts’ calls is very, very important in helping the younger non-breeding Swifts find a future place to nest. There will also be returning adult Swifts blocked out of their previous nest sites by building work. If you need help, get in contact now Suffolk Bird Group
