Okay, it’s back on here in Trend-Arlington but I’m now seeing report of a far wider outage.

A second major winter event is headed toward Ottawa. A winter weather parking ban will be in effect tomorrow, February 16, beginning at 10 am, until further notice. Please do not park on #OttCity streets so crews can plow easily and effectively. bit.ly/40WMHFb

Please avoid the 200 block of Laurier Ave, where the structural integrity of a parkade has been compromised. Vehicles currently parked there are currently inaccessible.

I'm getting notices about a power outage in the Fisher Heights / Parkwood Hills area, starting just about 10 minutes ago. There's nothing up on Hydro Ottawa Outage Map just yet. I'll post update ASAP.

The Hydro Ottawa Outage Map just got updated. There are 2 large outages covering much of Ward 9 and Barrhaven, totaling more than 11k customers. Currently, power restoration is expected for 2:30am. No info yet on cause of outage. I've written to my contacts at Hydro for info.

Connected with Hydro Ottawa. There are crews on call 24/7, so they've been dispatched. No news yet on cause, but this could be many things: damage from a vehicle, a fallen branch, an animal, construction. As it's not a system-wide outage, let's hope it's repaired before 2:30am.

I am now hearing that power is back on in parts of Fisher Heights, and near Merivale Mall, from four different households. I'll keep checking the outage map, which is updated every 15 minutes.

Power appears to have been restored to all of the outages affecting Ward 9. Thanks Hydro Ottawa for your quick work. Now, I'm just crossing my fingers that all of our friends and neighbours in Barrhaven get the same quick solution.

Hey Ward 9, there’s another power outage in Knoxdale-Merivale, this time affecting my neighborhood of Trend-Arlington. I’m without WIFI right now so my abilities to monitor and communicate are limited. Please tag me if your power is out so that I can get a sense of the scale.

So far power appears to be back on in Trend Arlington and Craig Henry. I’m monitoring the Hydro Ottawa Outage Map to see what areas remain out. Hydro has told me the outage was due to temporary loss of supply from the provincial grid.
