Every household in England ‘to be within 15 minutes of green space or water’… better be fast walkers Liverpool city centre dwellers! theguardian.com/environment/20…

Liverpool Biennial I think you’ve forgotten… this beautiful green space doesn’t exist anymore! Liverpool City Council destoyed it leaving behind an empty, stagnant wasteland. Feel free to update your photo for the visitors and tourists! #LearnFromBixtethGardens #SaveOurGreenSpaces

Uh oh! Looks like Bruntwood Works have made the same error… don’t worry, mistakes happen. I’m sure this old photo of our beautiful gardens isn’t intentionally being used to mislead people? #LearnFromBixtethGardens #SaveOurGreenSpaces

Liverpolitan | Politics & Culture Andi Paul Liverpool Labour Carl Cashman LearnFromBixtethGardens @prosocialplace The 'before and after' pictures should tell the story themselves? Zero respect for urban green space. Yes, it may have looked dated, but it was home to biodiversity and those trees would have done a pretty good job of cleaning city air. The Bixteth campaigners knew its value.

Liverpolitan | Politics & Culture Paul Liverpool Labour Carl Cashman LearnFromBixtethGardens @prosocialplace "The campaigners" are just regular folk who don't like seeing green space bulldozed for land grabs. 'Offsetting' established trees, their air-cleaning and CO2-capturing properties with saplings misses the point. Commercial districts need green spaces too, not just turf and shrubs

Liverpolitan | Politics & Culture Save Rimrose Valley 🍃💚🍃 Paul Liverpool Labour Carl Cashman LearnFromBixtethGardens @prosocialplace There's no shortage of undeveloped, abandoned and brownfield sites in and around the city centre, but very little green amenity space. Arguing for balance isn't arguing against development.
