Alberta's energy-only market does its thing. Prices rise, lots of new supply comes in, prices fall. Repeat. (And no, this fall isn't due to any recently announced policy changes. It was foretold in forward markets long before that due to lots of new supply coming online)

6/This is a huge step forward in costs for enhanced geothermal and brings us nearly in line with the recently published DOE Geothermal Liftoff Report goal for 2030. Years ahead of schedule.

This is much bigger news, as in it matters, than Singh’s statement today 👇 Aside: I think we can trace the end of the carbon tax to the Fed’s foolish decision around exempting heating oil. Lost all the arguments that day through that brazenly political decision.

Opponent: "Carbon taxes are regressive. Poor people will no longer be able to heat their homes." Me: "Here's a graph showing they're progressive and that almost all lower income households are better off." Opponent: "see, carbon taxes are just a wealth redistribution scheme.
