So much smearing & belittling of consultants in the press, but this, from today’s The Times and The Sunday Times letters page, could not have put it more beautifully. Pls RT if you agree. #NHS 💙

Removing a trade union representative from a locum group chat and then retrospectively deleting their messages is not a good look Leicester's Hospitals. Trade union representatives have protection against detriment under the TULRCA. I would advise you remind Mr Butt of that.

Let's get this straight. A democratically elected trade union rep asked if senior doctors have also been asked to help cover, and they were removed? Why are Leicester's Hospitals not seeking consultant cover during strikes? Mr Mitchell, sort it.

The derogation granted to Kings College Hospital for a Radiology SpR, has been revoked for both today and tomorrow. This is due to a false submission of accurate staffing levels. Either local management were unaware they had sufficient cover, or they deliberately misled us.

Doctors pay restoration will save the country £210 - £650 million (underestimate) Half the country will struggle to do the math Which half are you in?

With all the derogations that the BMA have had to give out to ensure safety of patients- I hope the public see how dangerously on the brink of catastrophe that so many trusts are operating at on a daily basis. NHS England told them to intentionally underprepare for strikes.

Too important to strike, not important enough to earn £22p/h. When the talks about banning strikes under the ruse of public interest start after your party laundered millions to their mates during an international pandemic, you know you’re not just a shitty person but a parasite.

I see we're at the stage of the dispute where anonymous government sources lie to the Guardian in an attempt to divide us. Don't they know we are stronger than this? We ARE The BMA #DoctorsStrike

“Doctors hold lives in their hands” - these lives are worth only £18/hr apparently? I’d value them at atleast £24/hr - still a bargain. #bma #nhs #doctorstrike

Andrew Jordan (@andrew_jordan_) 's Twitter Profile Photo

In the run up to this round of Resident Doctors strike action NHS England were encouraging NHS trusts to run non-urgent planned care - which we warned would run the risk of staffing levels not being safe Now they seek to shift blame for those staffing levels to the BMA - outrageous

The People That’s including working weekends/nights and past your standard 37.5 hours a week. 1. Paid 10k less than our assistants 2. £17/18 /hr - criminal behaviour 3. Don’t compare to the national average as there’s nothing average about doctors.

'Are they prepared to continue to have strike action in the NHS, are they prepared to continue losing doctors abroad, or do they want to give us the four more pounds an hour?' Dr Emma Runswick from the British Medical Association spoke to #BBCBreakfast as the 5 day resident

Medical school and Foundation Years (so far) have been a continuous wave of observing and experiencing infantilising interactions, toxic departmental dynamics, bullying passed off as "training", and an all round lack of basic respect xo

Arun Baksi Oh look another elderly consultant with no student loans, a guaranteed job, no pay erosion and a final salary pension throwing their tuppence worth in. Easy to “serve” when you don’t have to worry about all of that.

Some foundation year two doctors due to finish training next week are already looking to leave the UK after failing to find a role in the NHS, The BMJ finds. Others have shared how they'd been living on Jobseeker’s Allowance as they compete for posts bmj.com/content/390/bm…

Recently The Independent exposed Great Ormond Street Hospital using Physician Assistants to replace doctors. My FOI adds: in 6 months, 41 doctor shifts were filled by PAs/ACPs, not doctors. Doctor shifts should only be filled by doctors, not cheaper substitutes.
