Been tweeting about how dangerous PAs are for over a decade and now the ship has essentially sailed. You're all collectively to blame.

The use of PAs in EM in the near future, told by Paul Kennedy, senior EM consultant and shared and supported by HEE. 2040 vision: to have consultant PAs and to start migrating PAs onto middle grade rotas Can you really say they wouldn’t be taking up an SpR slot?

I thought the whole point of PAs was that they’d stick around on wards liberating doctors to go meet their training needs? 2 year top-up course and you get to do all this. If you’re a doctor, good luck with the competition ratios and the exams and portfolio and rotation.
