Ready to get this week of ADOS training started… #MySLTDay

Yday I discharged a child I saw for ongoing speech sound therapy over the last year. So rewarding seeing the amazing progress he had made & to be told he started reception and everyone can now understand him😭🥰 I may have 1000 reports to write, but this is what it’s all about😊

#MySLTDay was my first ever time interviewing with my Team Lead for a B5 vacancy… such an interesting experience. Felt so exciting to be able to give the successful candidate the good news 😊 I remember how excited I was as an NQP to get my first role!

Doing the DEAP with a child and they had the cutest responses to some of the pictures. When it’s the man giving the lady flowers he said “love” 🥺 and then when it was the lighthouse picture he said “the Eiffel Tower?” 😂 sooo sweet #MySLTDay

I have been issued a “new” laptop 😱 let’s see how this goes… I might actually be able to do things without waiting 10 seconds between every click for it to load 😅

Highlight of #MySLTDay was seeing cute baby chicks in a reception classroom on a school visit 🐣🐥

Had a parent tell me they’d already been trying to support their child’s speech using meaningful contrasts for fronting as their names are e.g. Kay and Tay (not their real names) 😆 I was highly amused #MySLTDay

Just went to send a report and realised I’d written “disagreed and agreed with parent” at the end, instead of “discussed and agreed with parent” 🤣🤣🤣 thank goodness for proof reading 🙈 #MySLTDay

Today someone said “have a lovely Christmas” when they left (it was the end of a block of therapy) … I’m not sure how to feel about this. Excited for Christmas? Scared at how the year is flying?
