There's an European Geosciences Union #poll about the question whether ECS should be able to do talks in session they are convening (see below). It seems to me that not allowing conveners to do talks in their own session is a good rule to avoid any issues regarding (apparent) partiality.
We are thrilled to present the new blog team for 2023/24! A huge thank you to Dr. Iris van Zelst for her six years at the helm, and a warm welcome Michaël Pons & @crpiceda as our new editors-in-chief! Betti Hegyi Dr. Zhibin Lei Giridas Maiti @geo_hinshaw blogs.egu.eu/divisions/gd/2…
New paper from Michaël Pons and @crpiceda on the role of plate geometry in Southern Central Andes. Congratulations 👏🎉
📢Tectonic Modelling Tuesday #53 - with numerical work by Michaël Pons & co. (GFZ UniPotsdam GEOMAR_en Structural Geology & Tectonics @ ETH Zurich), who show how slab steepening + hindered trench migration affects the Central Andes.😃 More info in their 2022 JGR Solid Earth paper: doi.org/10.1029/2022JB…
The mantle’s viscosity structure is important for understanding the dynamics of the Earth’s mantle. In this week’s blog, Kenneth Gourley from University of Arizona discusses the variation of viscosity structure in Earth’s mantle in regional scale. blogs.egu.eu/divisions/gd/2…

In this week’s post Dr Josh DeVincenzo and M.A student Syeda Kainaat Jah will walk us through the best practices on how we can educate and engage more people in understanding the climate impacts and implementing effective DRR strategies! blogs.egu.eu/divisions/gd/2…
“Bored by the Lower Mantle? Think again!” In my new EGU Geodynamics Division blog, I talk about how deep mantle dynamics can be “seen” with seismic anisotropy, revealing a lot more going on down there than we think. Enjoy and don’t get bored!😊 blogs.egu.eu/divisions/gd/2…
