Surely, every person who has ever said they are in favor of free speech and expression will absolutely, no question oppose this loudly and passionately. Right?

For the life of me, I can’t understand why this data shouldn’t get more air in the trans treatment debate. There are questions/uncertainties, of course, like for every medical treatment. But the goal is to improve lives, no? If so, these voices should matter, and a lot.

The New York Times sure has been unmasking itself these past few days, from the top.

Noelle McAfee says she was arrested after telling a cop to stop “pummeling” a young person who was already on the ground. She stood 4 feet away from police. They told her to move; she said “no,” and they took her. She tears up remembering the kid, wondering if they are OK.

If the point of treatment is to make people’s lives better, isn’t this an extremely important data point that shouldn’t easily be brushed aside?

It’s lazy writing and even lazier editing. But why does it feel as though The Atlantic commissions these types of pieces every week?

Notable that the concept of “anti-Palestinian racism” has never entered the American political lexicon. Amid all the concern about Israeli brutality inciting antisemitism, no one stops to wonder about the ideology that makes Palestinian suffering so acceptable.

Great reporting: for 50 yrs, Indiana U. allowed 'temporary structures' without prior approval as long as they weren't left up overnight. But it unilaterally changed that policy on Apr 24, right before protesters were going to set up temporary structures.
