Nice to find Barney today Jonathan Fowler just south of RSPB Frampton Marsh 🌍 . Absolutely smashed the BTO ringing longevity record. He was ringed as a chick on 13th June 2007, so is nearly 17 years old. He's outlived at least four wives, and he and current one have 4 eggs.

Our 200th Barn Owl of the year ringed today, along with 190 Kestrels and 110 Little Owls for 2024. Presumably weather has had an impact with Barn Owl brood size average of just 2.1 and Kestrels 3.1 Kestrels vary in dates with some still on eggs, whilst others have fledged.
