Great to see members of Scottish Parliament vote in favour of the Tobacco & Vapes Bill – this is a significant milestone in our mission to end cancers caused by smoking in the UK. It’s vital the legislation is passed in all four nations for a #SmokefreeUK.

Following a meeting last week with leaders from Tesco, British Heart Foundation and Diabetes UK, we’ve written to @WesStreeting calling on the Government to restrict the promotion of unhealthy food and drink, and introduce mandatory reporting on healthy food sales.

Our latest analysis shows the progress we've made thanks to research, but that there is still much to be done. The UK government has a great opportunity to transform cancer services, improve early diagnosis and save lives through the National Cancer Plan.

🚭The smokefree generation policy will mean that anyone born on/after 1 Jan 2009 will never be able to legally be sold  tobacco. 🔦This means that the age of sale will go up by one year, every year until eventually no one will be able to be sold tobacco. (2/5)
