I'm a survivor of childhood abuse !! But let's not forget about Trial by Media !! The whole of MSM backed this man's allegations!! Yet turned on him when he was found out to be a fantasist and abuser !!! Who's lives were destroyed?

The Sunday Times broke my story of the sexual abuse I endured six years after initially reporting my allegations to the police . Once my last trial concluded . The media was allowed to report !!!! Trial by media brings no justice and can impact negatively on any investigation

Proud moment today. Had a customer disclose he was engaging with the Scottish child abuse inquiry and was find the redress scheme a positive experience. He had no idea that for three years myself and a core group of campaigners fought the establishment to get such a scheme set up

I ask myself often what I’ve actually achieved? It often takes my friends and family to point out what changes I’ve been involved with !

I was assured in 2009 by a senior Thames valley police officer that there was simply no point in him taking a statement of my allegations of historic child abuse ! Well he didn’t last long in his job !!! Never underestimate the power of your voice

By 2014 I had secured the conviction of two men whom abused me as a child . Another abuser took his life before the police could deal with him . And another abuser was acquitted after two trials couldn’t secure a majority decision by the jury’s

So when your told by the police that happened decades ago ! There’s nothing we can do to assist you !! Simply don’t accept their lazy and inept excuses ! Fight on

So from the shadows of anonymity ( a complete press black out during investigation and trials) my story broke !

So several inept police officers in Thames valley nearly destroyed my chance of justice The crown prosecution service & complex teams of the cps Thames valley held my cases for over a year !Then my allegations were held at the Director of public prosecutions desk for over a year

So at nearly every stage of trying to gain justice from the British criminal justice system I was met with barriers and resistance! But I refused to give up ! I refused to comply! I refused to be silenced !

Yes we may have been damaged as children by horrific abuse ! But it’s what has shaped me into whom I’ve become ! I’m truly tough and bloody resilient! These attributes are what enabled me to survive my childhood

So I achieved what many may consider justice ! But this isn’t what I’m proud of ! What I’m proud of is being part of a small group of folk who held the Government to account ! By pushing and forcing them into delivering a public inquiry fit for survivors of abuse

Being part of a group who enabled the removal of the archaic law in Scotland called the Time Bar

By ensuring professionals such as teachers , social workers and police are better equipped to spot signs of abuse . And are better educated how to deal with adult survivors of abuse when they present
