Crazy!!! Fluorescence microscopy has now achieved Angstrom resolution! Jungmann Lab Max Planck Institute of Biochemistry (MPIB) could even resolve single DNA base-pairs. Works also to resolve individual NPC proteins in cells. Amazing work today nature! nature.com/articles/s4158…
Registration is now open! Come find this big screen on Temasek BLVD and take the escalators up to the 4th floor! The RNA Society #RNA23 #RNA2023
Why is there so much disorder in eukaryotic proteins? What is its relationship with condensates? Why can some proteins be saved but others get degraded? After years in the making, we think we have answers and they're all connected. Excited to share a 🧵: biorxiv.org/content/10.110…
Dr. Josefa González Another interesting preprint from Dr. Josefa González on affect of TEs on expression of genes and chimeric transcripts across Drosophila tissues #ICG2023 biorxiv.org/content/10.110…
Out today in Nature Biotechnology! PhD students & postdocs: there's a trick – overlooked and underused – for having new ideas in the creative process. Talk science 1 on 1 with a science buddy that you trust and think of it as an improvisation. nature.com/articles/s4158…… Martin Lercher
How do intrinsically disordered regions (IDRs) regulate protein function? Today in Molecular Cell, we show how the IDR of LSD1 acts as a fuzzy molecular switch to tune transcription factor interactions & control leukemia differentiation. (1/6) sciencedirect.com/science/articl…
