#UK #economy started second quarter well with #GDP growing 2.3% month-on-month in April (best monthly growth since July) as helped by easing of restrictions. Had previously ended Q1 well with GDP growth of 2.1% in March despite overall contraction of 1.5% quarter-on-quarter in Q1

Following 2.3% month-on-month growth in April (strongest monthly growth since last August), #UK #GDP was up 1.5% on 3-month/3-month basis in April compared to drop of 1.5% in March. Little surprise April growth was led by services which benefited most from easing of restrictions

Lot to agree with in this David Smith David Smith article - is notable that pandemic has caused a lot of people to re-evaluate what they want from where they live as well as resulting in very weak base effects for pay & inflation thetimes.co.uk/article/a-red-…

A note of thanks to our amazing NHS. I dialled 999 for myself on Friday after collapsing during work with chest pains and dizziness. I feared the worst. Paramedics reached me in minutes. After tests/scans it turns out I have pneumonia. A relief, frankly. Moral: protect our NHS.
