Then Peter went out to the gateway, where another servant girl saw him and said to the people there, “This fellow was with Jesus of Nazareth.” He denied it again, with an oath: “I don’t know the man!” (Matthew 26:71-72)

Paul said, "It's due to my hope in God's promise to our ancestors that I am on trial. A promise our 12 tribes hope on as they eagerly serve God day and night. King Agrippa, it's due to this hope the Jews accuse me. Why should you all think it incredible that God raises the dead?"

Later, some went to Peter saying, “Surely you are one of them; your accent gives you away.” Peter called down curses and swore, “I don’t know him!” And a rooster crowed. Peter recalled what Jesus said: “Before the rooster crows, you will disown me thrice.” And he wept bitterly.

Paul continued, “I too was convinced that I ought to do all that was possible to oppose the name of Jesus of Nazareth. And I did it in Jerusalem. Authorized by chief priests I put many of the Lord’s people in prison, and when they were put to death, I cast my vote against them."

Early morning, chief priests & elders plotted on how to get Jesus killed. So they bound him and handed him over to Governor Pilate. When Judas, who betrayed him, saw that Jesus was condemned, had deep remorse and returned the 30 pieces of silver to the chief priests & elders.

Paul continued before King Agrippa, "Many a time I went from one synagogue to another to have them punished, and I tried to force them to blaspheme. I was so obsessed with persecuting them that I even hunted them down in foreign cities." (Acts 26:11)

Filled with remorse, Judas said to chief priests & elders, “I have sinned, for I have betrayed innocent blood.” They replied, “What is that to us? That’s your responsibility.” So Judas threw the money into the temple and left. Then he went away and hanged himself. (Mat 27:4-5)

Paul continued to King Agrippa, “On one such journey to Damascus with the chief priests' authority to persecute Jesus' followers, about noon, as I was on the road, I saw a heavenly light, brighter than sun, blazing around me and companions. And we all fell down." (Acts 26:12-14)

The chief priests picked up the coins Judas threw into the temple and said, “It is unlawful to put this in treasury, as it is blood money.” So they used the money to buy the potter’s field as a burial place for foreigners. Hence it has been called the Field of Blood to this day.

Paul continued to Agrippa, "We all fell to the ground, and I heard a voice saying to me in Aramaic, ‘Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me? It is hard for you to kick against the spikes.’ Then I asked, ‘Who are you, Lord?’ ‘I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting,’ the Lord replied."
