We rounded out our apple fun with some apple print painting & reading fiction & nonfiction books about apples!

Yesterday we had our “Mini Moments & Mini Muffins” writing celebration, to mark the end of our Small Moments unit. I loved seeing the students take a gallery walk & compliment their friends published pieces! After we complimented, we treated ourselves to some mini muffins!

We had so much fun learning about bats last week, and are ready to become pumpkin experts this week! Our class is having so much fun with our science topics this year!

We started our week of winter fun with snowman day! We had a very special guest reader to kick off our week! ❄️☃️

We ended Snowman Day comparing & contrasting the Frosty the Snowman book & movie! We are excited for Elf Day tomorrow!

Elf Day was a blast! We read “How to Catch an Elf,” and created our own elf trap. We decorated & wrapped our parent gifts too! We can’t wait for Grinch Day tomorrow!

We had a super soft start to our day, as we made cards for one of our classmates. I love seeing how these firsties show love & support to one another through difficult times. Thankful for my first grade crew & taking time to nurture our relationships with one other! ♥️

Our Student Lighthouse Team has worked so hard to pull off today’s book drive! All of the money raised will be for Indy Sow to buy brand new books! Come to Washington Woods Elementary School & show our SLT some support from 10:00 - 12:30! 📚

First three days of student teaching ✅ I am so exciting for what is to come! This group of kiddos is so special. So many opportunities for learning and magic to come!!

This 1st grade leader was recognized for displaying Habit #1: Be Proactive! I love how our school celebrates & prioritizes student leadership. 💗

We had a blast at Russell Farms today. We learned about life/animals on the farm, went on a hayride to pick out some pumpkins & even had some time to play in the beautiful, fall weather! 🍂🎃
