I am devastated to learn about the shooting in Midtown and am keeping the victims, their families, and all those affected in my thoughts. Grateful to the first responders who quickly and bravely answered the call this evening.

My heart breaks for Officer Didarul Islam's wife, family, and Bengali community. This horrific mass shooting with a semi-automatic assault weapon is yet another tragic reminder that the US must do more to end senseless gun violence.

I am also thinking of the other victims, including Wesley LePatner—a Jewish community leader and UJA-Federation of New York board member. My prayers are with their families. May their memories be a blessing. jta.org/2025/07/29/uni…

Feeling profoundly sad today — for the cruel loss of those killed 24 years ago, still felt so deeply by the family members who read their names today. And also for the ways political violence is spreading like a virus now, as we saw so awfully yesterday. We must find ways to

The Met Council does incredible work, ensuring that every family has food on the table and can celebrate the holidays with dignity. Grateful to help out at their Rosh Hashana food distribution yesterday and tour their Brooklyn Hub in Boro Park!

Another glorious Friday morning to run to work over the Brooklyn Bridge! Especially grateful today for the glimpse of that copper-plated statue in the harbor reminding us how lucky we are — and what it means — to be New Yorkers.
