You don’t have to watch the video of #TyreNichols being beaten by police. You don’t have to subject yourself to that trauma. It should not require another video of a Black human being dehumanized for anyone to understand that police brutality is an urgent, devastating issue.

This is such a mind-boggling question to me. Novelists write everything in their books, screenwriters write everything in their scripts. Why do so many people assume TV writers just write a few lines of dialogue for one character and call it a day?

AI isn't that good and it has no heart. Kinda important for storytelling and adapting. The human writer would probably have to rewrite it from scratch bc the draft is unsalvagable. This is like a cringy pitch. It's cliche. It's cheugy. It's embarrassing. They're reaching.

Duffers here. Writing does not stop when filming begins. While we’re excited to start production with our amazing cast and crew, it is not possible during this strike. We hope a fair deal is reached soon so we can all get back to work. Until then -- over and out. #wgastrong

Here is a fun fact about showrunner pay in the streaming age: In a year where I write two unproduced (in other words, failed) pilots, I make more money than I will make in 12 straight months of running a TV show that I co-created.

David Simon, the creator of The Wire, says he’s on strike to protect new generations of writers and make sure they aren’t exploited by studios. He also explains how studios are cutting jobs to please shareholders and making TV shows almost impossible to run. cc David Simon

Listen. LISTEN. If the Copyright Office wants to help writers it could just declare it will not register AI-generated material. Without registration, studios won't have massive infringement damages assured and they will HIRE WRITERS
