This is the reality of housing in Toronto. This 5-unit century old powerhouse was demolished for a new single family home with a basement apartment. No consultation required. Meanwhile, the original building would not be able to be built as-of-right, today.

This is obscene. Fentanyl is an extremely effective form of pain management used unilaterally across North American hospitals. Deeming fentanyl a "weapon of mass destruction" is just an outrageous political means for the U.S. to target Canada and Mexico. thehandbasket.co/p/trump-fentan…

I strongly disagree with this quote. The crowds are there because so many people rely on transit to get to work & school, every day, despite their frustrations with the system- and they expect the TTC to focus on improving service including safety, affordability and reliability.

This raises a really interesting question: How do you win a trade war? When you think about the answer, it seems pretty clear to me that Canada cannot lose. 1/

Anyone else having a hard time crossing at crosswalks WITH SIGNALS these days because of drivers who don’t respect right of way? Saw a couple motorists try to argue with the crossing guard in a school zone today.

Every English Canada riding is named like "Toronto Centre" or "Vancouver East," while every Quebec riding is named something like "Cinqant-Iles-Et-Les-Haricots-Vert-Hon-Hon-Hon"

Please note that if you use "prime minister elect" to refer to Mark Carney, a Canadian constitutional scholar will come to your home and smash your windows.

Mackenzie Gray The median home in Vancouver requires an income of nearly $240K. The median income in Vancouver is less than half that. Gregor Robertson is implicitly saying that cities like Toronto and Vancouver will never be affordable to average people again. If our leaders are willing to

PhDs who end up working outside the academy (for whatever reason) are not failures. Enough already with the professional elitism.

Zohran—a self-identified socialist—recognizing the role of private market in providing housing signals a massive change in the Overton window. More housing of all types is the only way to end the crisis. Appreciate Zohran Kwame Mamdani for acknowledging this.

For the past few years, front-line workers in Toronto have relied on private donations of bottled water to keep homeless people alive and healthy during the summer — all because City of Toronto 🇨🇦 refuses to enact a water strategy. This year, there is no donated water. This is bad.

I bought a refundable flight from Buffalo for tomorrow because I wasn’t sure if Air Canada would cancel my flight. Air Passenger Rights if my flight is cancelled, can I still send them the bill? Can’t find advice on if you buy the replacement flight first.
