Just had explosive interaction w/ Columbia University’s heightened security coming onto campus. They followed me to my office & then lied, saying I didn’t scan my ID for entry (I did) & I pushed an officer (I didn’t). An ugly scene followed. They did this to me, a tenured, full professor.

This is a great example of bad faith reporting. There’s been a guy hanging outside Columbia *for years* with a sign that says the Jews did 9/11. Was that also representative of anti-Semitism at Columbia? Welcome to New York City, for chrissake.

As someone with personal experience on this, there have been numerous documented examples of the police lying about journalists at protests to justify arrests and charges. Too many to count at this point.
