A recent consignment for our Feb 2025 Medals & Militaria auction. A scarce, and possibly unique combination of medals to Herbert Adams of the Royal Navy, HM Coastguard, and Wear River Police. Notable is the King’s Police Medal for Gallantry, won in 1918.

At Hansons, we thrive on the scarce and unusual, including this large copper sheath fragment salvaged from the wreck site of HMS Bounty, in Bounty Bay, Pitcairn Island. Acquired in 1973 by an RAF technician stationed at Pitcairn while establishing a radio transmitter station.

An unusual and impressive aviation collectible. A large laminated wooden propeller blade, set with a small gilt brass barometer. Likely c.1920 in date. Its former owner worked for Rolls Royce, and it’s possible that this is where it originated from. Hansons Auctioneers Charles Hanson

Coming to our next militaria auction in February, a British WW1 trench club or mace. Fashioned in oak and cast iron, this would pack a vicious punch. Named to a ‘J.Sollis’, which may refer to several John or Joseph Sollis’ that served in the trenches.

An exceptionally rare Japanese badge for the Grand Cordon of the Order of Chrysanthemum, awarded posthumously to King Manuel II of Portugal following his death in 1932. Gifted to one of his retinue, and thus by descent. Coming to our February 26th Medals & Militaria auction.
