One of the more unusual items we’ve seen recently.
A WW1 era prisoner of war work painted cow scapular or shoulder blade.
Made by a German ‘alien’ or possibly a spy while being held at the Newbury POW camp in 1914.

Not a military theme this time, but I’m absolutely enamoured by these original early 20th century, women’s suffrage / votes for women badges, some with original labels to reverse.
From a very large and eclectic private collection.

A grizzly reminder of the cost of war.
This WW2 Japanese Type 90 combat helmet has a clean bullet entry point to one side, and a larger and ragged exit point to other.
Almost certainly causing a fatal injury to its wearer.
