The blanket ban on assisted dying prevents people having choice at the end of their life and it drives some to take very desperate measures, like Paul Blomfield's father was forced to. Only changing the law can give dying people the choice and control they need and deserve.

This morning’s surgery began with a surrogacy campaigner and ended with a discussion on assisted dying. Two conversations at life’s beginning and end - reminding us that dignity, compassion, and choice must be at the heart of policy from cradle to grave.
