Again, I think John Burn-Murdoch should issue a correction. His pronouncement about a racial realignment in American politics is just not borne out by a careful read of the evidence.
RaCiaL rEaLigNMEnt might be an exciting thing to talk about but we have no evidence that it's real.

I am receiving one of the Russell Sage Foundation Pipeline Grants to study racially restrictive housing covenants and support for reparations.

Declined an alumnus spotlight/recruitment campaign invite from UF Engineering due the anti-DEI stance @UF has taken under the leadership of Ben Sasse; who is happy to comply with the Florida GOP and Ron DeSantis. I hope other UF Alumni of color speak out. See my response below.
TL/DR: Age and declining connection to the party are real; growing cultural conservativism is not. Less than 20% of Black Americans are conservative, and great new work by Hakeem Jefferson suggests it might be even less than that because of the ideology question itself.
