I love The Pitt. And I’m so glad this season is over so I can stop seeing the dumbest people on earth get online every week and share the stupidest, most bad faith takes on every single aspect.

It’s a testament to how consistent and distinctive The Pitt’s visual language is that the moment they leave the ED you feel like you’re watching a different show.

yes, I do think this “parasocial hate” thing is far more dangerous than some would like to admit bc why do you have an entire account dedicated to a public figure you claim you don’t like

This is a good piece and I appreciate the author pushing back on the claim the Pitt fans have no media literacy. Most of them aren't illiterate, they're just -- for whatever reason -- watching the show in bad faith.

The Pitt fans: "What's that you don't believe that Noah Wyle is the reincarnation of Hitler? Well get a load of this damning evidence." *Video of Noah Wyle campaigning for John Kerry in 2004*

So sick of these people treating shows like there's some "natural" element to its creation but the writers are "deliberately" writing it differently to spite them.

These fans hate that a show exists about the horrors of the American healthcare system and how it destroys patients and doctors. It infuriates them that it's not a teen drama.

The Pitt is one of the most watched shows currently airing. A huge breakout hit for HBO. Boomers are subscribing for the first time. A few deranged fans on a dead website that's lost all cultural relevance are not going to affect the show.

It's fun seeing people who didn't pay attention to 2025 NYC mayor campaign who pretend they were always on board. Zohran was *constantly* on offensive against Cuomo and Adams! He was *very* snarky! You were too busy being scared by free buses to actually pay attention

some libs have really had their minds and hearts destroyed by democratic leadership. "electability" is not the reason to vote for someone. why are you voting for someone you don't like, in a *primary* election?

I don’t know how many more ways I can say that the revulsion and anger you feel watching Robby’s mental decline as he lashes out at more and more people who cannot really fight back per the social pecking order was an intentional creative choice by the showrunner and writers

It's gonna be fascinating watching Dems try to dismiss their growing base of voters that want the party to be just slightly more progressive and combative. You can't call 40% and more of your regular volunteers evil berniebros and not face repercussions.

I blame the parents. A part of childhood should be spent watching your dad's favorite violent movies & suffering through your mom's favorite songs in the car. That's how a living cultural memory is transmitted -- not via a perpetual bubble of age-appropriate content.
