If you want #SafeStreets in #Austin (no matter if you've moved away — as long as you can list a home #ATX zip code), fill out this survey by April 30 and choose Option E to support two-way #bicycle lanes on Shoal Creek Boulevard! surveymonkey.com/r/ShoalCreekBl…

We can't afford to throw more money at infrastructure. Not without real reform in the institutions that determine how it gets spent. When every mile of brand new pavement makes our towns poorer and more financially fragile, it's time to say #NoNewRoads. bit.ly/2ZKb748

"Cities are meant to stop traffic. That is their point. That is why they are there. That is why traders put outposts there, merchants put shops there, hoteliers erect inns there. Rationally one wants to have traffic *stop* there, not go *through*." —Kirkpatrick Sale

One graphic we haven't shared so far this week re: spending on urban vs rural. It's out of balance, one theory is that it's harder to do work in urbanized areas. Roads often not owned by state, might focus on roads they own first (rural ones)

It’s day 8 of #PrecedentWeek! For our very last installment of this series, we’re covering a much-loved project from our home state of Texas. Perhaps the most powerful precedent for Reconnect Austin & TxDOT’s role in improving I-35: the Klyde Warren Park in Dallas, TX
