YOU have to start taking responsibility for your line, that’s managers and other parents. Just to be absolutely clear - there is zero correlation on abusing a referee and a perceived wrong decision.

When a parent is considering clubs for their kid to join, this is the most important question they should ask "who will coach my kid?" Not what crest will they wear? Players have often joined great clubs with poor coaches simply for the crest

Be the coach that: • Connects with players • Listens • Challenges • Inspires • Builds confidences • Teaches Don't just focus on the scoreline

I think grassroots coaching should be mostly observing and facilitating. Create simple, game like activities, and then let the players play it how they want. For a child, trial and error based off their own ideas, rather than those of an adult (regardless of their background in

Kids footy.... brings out the best but also the absolute worst in people. People need to remember what we do this for.... the kids.

Grassroots football is on its arse...you've got ex managers trying to prevent KIDS from joining other teams using every tactic they can just to prevent them from carrying on wanting to play football just because they left his team.

So parents are forming cult like groups and are now dictating to managers/coaches what kids are good enough for their team or how much game time certain kids should be getting with the threat of all leaving the team if the coach doesn't follow what they think🤦🫣🤷🏻‍♂️

Best of luck to all the grassroots referees who will go to games alone, no assistants, no VAR, no 4th officials and be expected to give a faultless performance on par with the refs you see on TV and if the teams lose, be the one who gets blamed. You are appreciated. 👍

The state and behaviour of some at grassroots football is a real concern and seems to be getting worse to the point were its ruining it for everyone Win, lose or draw it is unacceptable for so called role models to be acting aggressively & threatening at kids football games

I would love to say nice things about my game today but it was truly spoilt by a terrible atmosphere and parents bad mouthing a young ref looking to learn. Good on him abandoning it at 2-1. He had a good game in a physical match.
