#OTD in 1898 an Irish hero was born. Monsignor Hugh O' Flaherty saved over 6000 lives in nazi-occupied Rome during WWII. Amb Collins recently visited the Collegio Teutonico inside the Vatican, where Mons. Hugh resided during the war and viewed the plaque to honour his memory.
