The Nursing and Midwifery Council is entirely unfit for purpose. Its focus now on 'exceptional' cases is still wrong - of course the regulator needs to act swiftly when there are accusations of murder, but it also needs to act fast when there is any significant threat to patient safety.

Some World Sepsis Day reflections on the report issued by Lord Darzi just yesterday on the NHS. So much in there related to #Sepsis and #AMR, much of which we’ve been calling for for a long time!

Here’s just one of many examples of the linkage between #Diagnostics, #SepsisAnd #AMR. There’s huge inconsistency in how these are processed across our NHS, with delays of over 48 hours in the diagnostic process even starting commonplace. This has to change. World Sepsis Day

Can I urge all of you, when reading these CQC findings to remember that this has only happened because family’s made it happen. Originally, the CQC did not want to know. James, Richard, Rhiannon, Kayleigh, Sarah, Jack and my own family have, and still are, doing the hard work!
