If only there was some sort of boat-related historical metaphor for a week where hundreds of third-class travellers sank to the bottom of the sea while the media obsessed over the fate of the millionaires travelling in first class

A great example of listening to young people’s views about the data we collect and use about them. I’m looking for other examples of this of anyone knows of them? Cc Dez Holmes

Well worth anyone with an interest in UK data taking a look at this key resource from ADR UK - it allows you to browse by topic and geography, and refine by features including data source and access conditions. A massive step forwards, and well done to all involved.

One of the most fascinating transition-related changes I have experienced as a disabled white man is how much it has diminished the administrative burden related to my medical care relative to when I was perceived as a woman...

Internships longer than 4 weeks that don't pay the National Minimum Wage should be banned. Internships are becoming increasingly important for graduates in the labour market. However, the usage of unpaid labour in sectors like law and media is locking out working class people.

You know what’s a false dream? That the graduate jobs market is a meritocracy and work inequalities are the fault of universities. Here are the facts 🧵

I’ve spoken to a number of disabled politicians about their experiences in elected office to find out how much further we have to go to make this an accessible place (spoiler alert, it’s a long way). politico.eu/article/britai…

So brilliant to have the expert Jeni Tennison chairing our event on 'automating analysis'. Thanks to Rebecca Godar's superb programming we have a packed online room all keen to learn about (and debate!) the use of predictive analytics and machine learning in children's services.

At our online event on 'automating analysis', the utterly *fantastic* Michael Sanders takes us on whistlestop tour of predictive analytics and what he & his team found out when they looked at its use in children's services.
