"The best way to improve your ability to think is to spend time thinking. One way to force yourself to slow down and think is to write. Good writing requires clear thinking. Writing gives poor thinking nowhere to hide." —

This is great from Austin Kleon about The Banshees of Inisherin: "One of the reasons I loved the movie is that no computer could have generated it. It’s so simple and human & hilarious. Brutal & sweeping like a western & gruesome and absurd like a fable" bit.ly/3VPBzFh

I enjoyed this insight from James Clear: The television series Mozart in the Jungle reminds us of the beauty of being an amateur: "You say 'amateur' as if it was a dirty word. 'Amateur' comes from the Latin word 'amare', which means to love. To do things for the love of it."

“‘Newness and innovation’ are overvalued, really. Or I should say they are valued to the point where they become a target for people to aim at, and that’s self-defeating…New ideas are nearly always slight shifts of things that are already very familiar to you.”
