Like everyone else I’m still trying to process the news…It’s hard to imagine the food world—and the world, period—without him. He’s been leading the conversation so passionately, and for so long, I think we can’t possibly realize yet how much we’ll miss him.

“Low plastic stool, cheap but delicious noodles, cold Hanoi beer.” This is how I’ll remember Tony. He taught us about food — but more importantly, about its ability to bring us together. To make us a little less afraid of the unknown. We’ll miss him.
