Thought finding a December Common Sandpiper on the patch North Cave Wetlands would be the highlight of the day until this Glossy Ibis got up from fields to north of the reserve before then flying over the reserve. Photo courtesy of @SGriffiths1302
Black-throated Thrush, Wykeham Forest, North Yorkshire. 20th February 2023. Bird eventually showed well feeding in field by Wykeham Nurseries, after spending a lot of time resting in trees often out of view. NorthYorksBirdNews
After setting off from the Car Park this morning with the intention of finding a Black Tern, I drew a blank on Village Lake, Main Lake, and Crosslands Lake but struck lucky with this beauty on Cell 2a North Cave Wetlands unfortunately always a bit distant at back of the lake.
Excellent views of the Squacco Heron at North Duffield Carrs, North Yorkshire, this evening as it fed along a ditch in front of the Garganey Hide. LDV NNR York Birding NorthYorksBirdNews
