A pleasure this week to welcome a delegation from the Chinese Ministry of Veterans' Affairs to Commonwealth War Graves. Their scale of work is immense, with 20 million falling within their scope, at over 150,000 facilities. It was fascinating learning from each other and sharing approaches
The role of Commonwealth soldiers during WW2 is often overlooked, but in places jncl Burma and the Far East they bravely fought & deserve greater recognition. On BBC Breakfast I spoke about Commonwealth War Graves efforts to ensure this is so and our For Evermore Tour cwgc.com/vj-day
Our Commissioner Chris Evans MP on the importance of commemorating #VJDay80

A very interesting and enjoyable discussion for Elisabeth Shipton and I meeting Adam Jogee MP MP to talk through some of the projects and strategic challenges of the Commonwealth War Graves. Hopefully the first of many!
Visiting inlaws in Australia so can't miss the opportunity to visit some Commonwealth War Graves sites maintained by The Office of Australian War Graves. Here at Cairns War Cemetary in Far North Queensland.
