I'm hearing from many parents of young children of the heroic work teachers and administrators are doing to make the start of this surreal school year feel special. I'm not surprised. Educators are heroes. And are often left to fix the messes of the rest of society.

This is not breaking news but the last six months have reminded us that teachers are amazing people. #CultureEd

It’s long past time we pay teachers what they deserve. The work they do is of extreme national importance — and their salaries should reflect that.
