Thomson Reuters asks me if I'm ready to tackle tax season - b**** where have you been for the last 4 weeks? I've BEEN tackling already.

Does anyone else get mad when they have a wealthy client who complains "how they just can't get by anymore" - lady worth over $4mil, with nearly a $390k AGI - complaining that she just can't get by - do you fire her, take her down a peg, what? (don't worry, she's not on X)

I have heard the phrase "don't throw out the baby with the bathwater" countless times in my life, and used it plenty, to describe not throwing out the good with the bad, and until this year, I never realized how many people had never heard of it.

Phrase that has officially been used too much, and is getting annoying. "Let's goooooooo." Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk, where I just complain about things that don't really matter, but annoy me anyway.

Ethics of firing clients who are slipping mentally? I had a client call twice to say they're not dropping off yet, 3rd to say they're about to drop off, a 4th to say they dropped off, and then a 5th to say "did you get it" (where else did you drop off?).

According to my spam folder, I've renewed my McAfee subscription 18 times in the last 7 days. Who knew I could be so efficient!

Like Mike Sylvester, CPA says, the world is breaking. I prep a 1041 for a CPA who's in estate administration. He signs the 8879 - THEN points out questions/concerns due to his bad info that he gave me. WHY DO I HAVE TO EDUCATE A 60+ y/o HOW TO REVIEW FIRST, SIGN LATER?!

Apparently I need to edit my tax return instructions to include the following in super duper big, bold, italicized print. READ THE INSTRUCTIONS IN THIS LETTER FULLY, IN ITS ENTIRETY, BEFORE YOU CALL US AND ASK SOMETHING THAT IS ALREADY CLEARLY STATED, RIGHT HERE, IN THIS LETTER

You ever want to reply to the client - "It's April 7th - I literally don't have the time remaining to suffer fools like you" Again - to reiterate - if you have questions, or have seen something incorrect - WHY ARE YOU SIGNING THE 8879 ANYWAY????

I have strangers constantly walking into my office because I'm Ste 7 - they're looking for Ste 7, but in the other building across the parking lot - they don't bother to read 2 different signs in front of them that indicate this is the wrong place.

Stretch the formula (that hasn't been changed since 1986) on social security taxation, but I think Warren Buffet and Mitt Romney and Biden and Clinton should all still pay tax on SS. Fix it, don't break it. Overtime should be taxed, tips should be taxed. Income is Income.

I'm starting to think it's appropriate to fire clients that don't answer my emails for 3 weeks - but then I look at my own inbox and realize there's some emails I haven't answered either...
