Eels need air b/c they can't get enough oxygen from water. They surface for air ~every 5 minutes. They are also prone to escaping aquariums.

Is anyone else having trouble with following people? I find that I add someone but then when I go back, they're not added.

@JenniferLMeyer However, platies are livebearers & like salt & neons hate it so you're looking at two very different types of fish.

Hint: For greater chances of success with fish (esp touchier species), buy from a fish store that uses the same tap water you have.

@JenniferLMeyer That list looks pretty good. However, I'd avoid Gouramis b/c they get "crabby" & are more aggressive during the break-in.

@JenniferLMeyer But pretty much all the tetras on that list should be okay or smaller danio species (avoid Giant Danios)

An adult electric eel can produce electric shock 5x greater than standard wall socket-about 650 volts. Enough to knock a horse off its feet!
