Being disabled and chronically ill is traumatic. We’re gaslit by doctors, pushed aside by society, some loved ones don’t believe us, our planned futures disappeared, and we’re experiencing our bodies attack themselves. We always feel sick, and we’re in pain. It’s traumatizing.

So turns out a bunch of people telling me to go enjoy nature when I can’t get out of bed is not helpful for curing my sadness.

best thing a therapist ever told me: “you’re not lazy, you’re just spending all your energy surviving right now.” i feel like someone else needs that reminder too

Got my new BreatheTeq KN95s KN95 Headband Masks the other day! Super breathable, comfortable, and such a great seal. I'm immunocompromised and working in retail, so these are a must! I will be ordering more for sure. Love that they also come in black too! Thank you! #MaskUp

Still in shock from yesterday. A manager confronted me in front of other co-workers saying, "Katherine, your scans are too low." (I do markdowns) I held back tears my whole shift. I applied to 15 jobs since July, trying to find a desk job. I haven't even been here for two months.

Had to call out of work an hour before my shift because my heart rate was extremely high. Even with my Propranolol, Liquid IV, and compression socks, it took forever to come down. The soonest I can see my cardio's PA is Dec. 8th. I've been so out of breath too. #POTS #NEISvoid

At this point I’m not “holding it together” I’m zip-tying my sanity to a broken lawn chair and hoping the wind doesn’t pick up.

no one talks about how draining it is when your mood constantly switches between "keep going, it will get better" and "i can't do this anymore, im about to give up." it's like living in emotional whiplash. one hour you're hopeful, the next you're spiraling
