Everyone talks about the weather; nobody can change it. But most people don’t discuss money, although it’s in their control.

Loving my recent FI hack. Go get a local library card. Get these 3 apps on your phone. You’ll have access to tons of ebooks, audiobooks, music, books, and more. Free works for me! Currently listening to “Think & Grow Rich!”

“The best time to plant the tree is twenty years ago. The second best time to plant the tree is today”. - Chinese proverb - What’s in the past is in the past. It’s not too late to plant your tree, move forward, and get on the road to success.

I was listening to the Tim Ferriss show today. His interviewee mentioned, “sympathy, not solutions”. Good advice. Sometimes people in our lives just want to talk. No advice needed. Just silence, just listening.

Love this chart! This is my favorite podcast. They mad this chart. Great for seeing where your net worth should be. And my fave, the value of each $ invested at every age.

Spurs locker rm: I go back and look at the stonecutter hammering away at his rock perhaps a hundred times without as much as a crack showing in it. Yet at the hundred and first blow it will split in two, and I know it was not that blow that did it, but all that had gone before.”

John Wooden says, “make every day a masterpiece”. You can’t give 80% today, then tomorrow give 120%, and expect everything to be even. 100% is the most you can give every day. Don’t lose that 20%. No matter the circumstances, make today a 100% day. Make “today”, a masterpiece.

Consider using the Mr. Money Mustache rule of 173. Whenever you cut a monthly expense, multiply that amount x 173. That amount is the $ amount you will have 10 years later. Based on a 7% average rate of return. Ex: Cut cable. $130 x 173 = $22,490.

I like the Money Guy Show rules for buying a car. 20/3/8. At least 20% down, no more than 3 year financing, and no more than 8% of your gross income. This keeps it real, and doesn’t steal from your future.
